For two decades, Mountain Air Helicopters has offered and performed firefighting and related services to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the US Forest Service, and local/regional agencies. We specialize in Type III helicopter fire support and suppression services.

Every Mountain Air Helicopters Pilot and Aircraft are USDA/OAS “carded” and meet the stringent contract requirements for equipment installation and pilot skill level. Each pilot undergoes annual detailed training and certification, and every aircraft is inspected annually for contract conformity, safety, and maintenance compliance.

Each aircraft is equipped with 2 water/retardant buckets (Bambi Bucket) with capacities up to a 180 gallons per load which are dropped with precision in non-congested areas, forests, and specific targets.

Mountain Air Helicopters pilots and aircraft are also PSD (Plastic Sphere Dispenser) and Heli-Torch qualified to perform aerial controlled burn and support.

The Mountain Air fleet has been utilized on fires all over the United States from Alaska to Florida, from mountainous to prairie lands. No topography or distance has been too great.

A proven safety and training record within Aerial Firefighting has been a major staple of Mountain Air Helicopters and will continue to do so for years to come!
