Airbus AS350B3 “ASTAR”

First produced in 1975, the AS350 series helicopter (now known as the H125) has proven to be a multi-mission workhorse to many industries. Mountain Air Helicopters operates the AS350B3 variant to advantage the high output engine and upgraded digital systems. From on demand charter service to flying crane, this versatile aircraft has performed brilliantly for Mountain Air Helicopters on projects to include crew transport, long-line of equipment and cargo, medivac, aerial survey, law enforcement, firefighting, movie/private charter and powerline and infrastructure support assignments.

With its sizable 5 passenger + pilot cabin configuration, and fitted side cargo basket, the aircraft has established itself as the machine for utility and remote area projects throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. With an 847 SHP engine we have demonstrated excellent performance in hot and high extreme environments.

Many of Mountain Air Helicopter projects require precision lifting of tools, baskets, and equipment on a 100’ long line with delivery to remote and very confined areas. The power and reliability of the AS350B3, and its capability to lift 2,300 lbs. of external cargo at sea level, have helped to establish our company as a lead performer on these projects.
