Mountain Air Helicopters provides safe, professional, customer-oriented utility helicopter services to commercial, state, and federal government organizations. We are an FAA-certified Air Carrier and External Load operator. We operate under very stringent rules and our safety record is strong.

We specialize in high-altitude, external load operations with our fleet of Eurocopter AS350B3 “A-Star”, Aerospatiale SA315B “Lama” and Hughes 500D helicopters. We take time to understand your project needs and provide customized service for your assignments. Our years of experience have proved to be a great asset as your team’s professional flight department.

Our company offers a wide range of helicopter utility services.  We operate 1 Aerospatiale SA315B “Lama’s”, 1 Hughes 369D (500D), and 6 – Eurocopter AS350B3 series helicopters comprising of 4 powerful AS350B3 and 2 AS350B3e helicopters for services such as Aerial Firefighting, Power Line Distribution Construction, Mulching and Seeding, Surveys, Seismic Exploration, Core Drill setting, and Heli-Ski operations.  We are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct for hire, on-demand passenger-carrying operations under 135 Air Carrier Cert. # MHHA481K, Part 137 Agricultural operations # MHHG481K, and Part 133 External Load operations # MHHL481K.  We contract our professional flight and ground support services to private individuals, commercial companies, and the government for a wide range of helicopter operations. Our specialization is in service and logistics.  We provide the service of a full-line helicopter flight department to our clients with the flexibility to treat and control the department as its own.  We represent our clients and promote their ability to complete tasks timely and efficiently.

Company History

Mountain Air Helicopters, Inc. was born in November 2002 but established on January 2nd, 2003. The company has been in full operation for more than 9 years. It is a Delaware Corporation formed by Dwight and Marina Jones. We are a registered foreign corporation in the state of New Mexico, based in Los Lunas, New Mexico at the Mid Valley Airport.

Day to day operations are overseen by Dwight Jones. 26+ years in the aviation industry combined with business and helicopter training and knowledge have been the backbone to this company. Dwight’s initial contributions of countless hours writing the companies Operations Manual, Training Manual and successful completion of obtaining all the company FAA certifications have lead the company through more than 9 years of safe operations and profitability. The company has developed a reputation for service, professionalism, and the ability to complete projects when subjected to limited resources and time.
